Preparation & Cooking

  • ‘1-egg’ recipes make 2 mini chaffles. Purchase 2 mini waffle makers to cook both chaffles at the same time.
  • Avoid using commercial non-stick cooking sprays. They contain propellants that can damage the non-stick coating.
  • Use an oil mister, silicone brush or paper towel to spread a thin layer of avocado oil, coconut oil or butter on the grill plates.
  • Let the waffle maker fully heat up before you use it. Ingredients are less likely to stick if the waffle maker is hot.
  • Put something under the waffle makers to keep your counter clean. A plate, paper plate, wax paper or a silicone cooking mat work well.
  • For recipes that call for only a couple of ingredients, just mix with a fork. For more ingredients, use a blender, magic bullet or immersion stick.
  • Mixing the cheese into the batter results in softer chaffles.
  • Add cheese first, then batter, then more cheese before cooking for crispier chaffles.
  • Be careful not to overfill. Fill the bottom grill area until the posts are just slightly covered. Roughly 2 Tbsps or slightly less than 1/4 cup is the amount needed for each mini chaffles.
  • Cook your chaffles for 3-5 minutes, or until they stop steaming. If you like a uniform look, flip them when they are almost finished cooking.
  • Use Alexa, your oven or phone timer to set a timer. Prep other items while your chaffles cook.
